Next up on Redlight’s lauded Lobster Boy label is a pairing of drum-heavy tracks courtesy of Sly One. Having released records on Black Butter, Subsoul and Punks Music amongst others, the Bristol trio, have garnered a following for their playful approach to dance music, which is underpinned by reliably deadly basslines and boisterous live performances. As such, their latest offering is one fans both old and new will relish and kicks off with ‘Drum Party’. Doing exactly what it says on the tin, it demonstrates the trio’s grasp of energy and rhythm throughout a raw and pacy drum tool that pushes and pulls throughout. ‘Air Punching’ then follows up driving brash polyrhythms under treated vocals and fizzing hats that build up a fervid, carnival-esque tension thats guaranteed to send the floor into rapture.
